Collection: The Cozy Cabin Collection
Story Time:
The story to this painting is much like the cabin it's self...simple! It was 1973 when I chanced upon a painting illustrating a poem in a magazine called 'Ideal' that had caught my eye. The picture in the magazine was in black and white and I borrowed the idea of a cabin in a winter landscape and I made my own painting with colors.
The painting went through a few different renditions through the years ultimately ending on me adding a little bridge with footsteps heading towards the cabin. It wasn't the cold or snow that appealed to me. Rather I like to think that who ever made those footsteps had been out in the cold all day and has finally arrived home to be warm and cozy snuggled up with their favorite book next to the fireplace.
While some may dream of the mansion on the hill, I'd like to think some people can still relate to the peace found snuggled up in 'The Cozy Cabin' away from the worries of the world.
