Collection: The Peaceful Cabin Collection.
I have been a member of the Eaton Art League since about 1984. Now over the years we began to have friendly competitions where everyone would make a painting on a certain theme. Well the fall of 2019 the theme was harvest time and for this painting I chose to do a cabin in the woods. I was going to include a nice garden but I never ended up putting it in. I found a house that I used for inspiration for the log cabin and a really nice looking wooden bridge that caught my attention.
I enjoyed making the little cabin in the woods because it reminded me of when I used to draw log cabins up on paper as a 5 or 6 year old kid after watching Walt Disney's feature film Davy Crockett. Now more than ever people need a retreat, somewhere to go to escape reality, somewhere simple. I'd like to think that looking at this painting helps one do just that!
